You know what burns my butt?

You know what burns my butt?

By Chuck · 1 Comment ·

I posed for this statue in my younger days, but I’m far to modest today.

Sit-ups, that’s what!

I remember the first time I did a WOD that had a lot of sit-ups; I took a shower and almost went through the roof when the hot water hit my tailbone. I didn’t know what hit me. Since then I have become very aware of the danger of sit-ups. I have finished WODs with my backside looking like raw meat and that is not a pleasant experience.

I have mentioned this to a few people and I have discovered that I am not the only tender-cheeked person in the gym. I have tried yoga mats, different fabrics, lotions, all for naught.

But this weekend I sat down and chatted with Professor Google, and asked the question, “How can I do sit-ups like a champion and still preserve my CrossFit buttocks?” After reading several very sad stories of people who had their buttocks surgically removed after intense workouts, I discovered a cure.

Please note, this is not a paid endorsement.

In my online search, I came upon several CrossFitters who recommended a product called BodyGlide. I was able to locate some at a sporting goods store and I tried it this morning. Fifty sit-ups without a yoga mat and my tailbone escaped unscathed. By now you may be asking, “What is this miraculous product, how can I get my hands on my own?” It’s easy, its just not cheap. But then what value do you place on happy cheeks after hundreds of sit-ups?

If you have a tender tail, go buy some and toss it in your gym bag. Your CrossFit Booty will love you for it.
