No, I don’t mean the end of the world (though it could be). I am referring to the end of my six-week Anti-Inflammatory diet.
I am pleased that a few favorite foods have already been re-introduced without any ill effects. And I have also determined that dairy (more specifically, ice cream) does cause some distress. Fortunately this is a seasonal treat that is infrequent.
Monday I go to the lab for my comprehensive blood test. I am eager to see the results after the extended restricted diet.
Usually I get blood drawn very early, but I wanted to do the WOD (a repeat of the CrossFit Open 13.1) in the morning, so my appointment isn’t until 10:00, with a 12 hour fast. I know I can’t have breakfast, a pre-WOD shake, Bulletproof coffee or even a post-WOD shake. I will be limited to water. So today I have been loading up a little, at this time I’m close to 4000 calories.
Thursday afternoon I get to review the results of all this stuff with Dr. Garcia. I am terrified of what he may dream up for Phase II of my “gastro-intestinal transformation”.
