Today is my 62nd birthday (though the post date isn’t). I had an excellent weekend at CrossFit 2a with Open Gym days.
On Saturday I had an hour of personalized attention improving my Cleans. I am still very limited by my lack of flexibility with raising my elbows, but I had major improvement in my stance, my grip, shrug and keeping the bar close to my body. I practiced the lift to the hang position, then the hang to clean and then put them together. I was amazed with the improvement and the noticeable efficiency which in time, will translate into weight.
On Sunday, I focused my attention on Back Squats for a half hour and Front Squats for a half hour. PRs in both: BS 150# & FS 125#.
This has been a good month for improvement in lifting, with PRs in five different lifts.
Note: Update 2017 – As I am redesigning my site, and editing/deleting posts which may no longer be relevant, I came upon this post. It delights me because it reminds me that I have been doing this stuff for five years. I began in summer 2012, and I am now 66 in 2017.
