Protein Up – Carbs Down

When you maintain a food log, it becomes clear that you may need to balance you macronutrients in ways that you never knew.

This human body is indeed a marvelous creation. It is a finely tuned system that puts a quality Swiss watch on par with a stone wheel.

Think about the delicate balance of how every drug, mineral, or nutrient we ingest, even in minute volumes can affect our physiology. It is truly amazing.

As I have been tweaking my foods to increase my Protein, I now need to readjust my Carbs downward. This maybe why I was seeing my daily caloric intake spike last week as I ate a few Buffalo Burgers with Sweet Potatoes.

Presently I am striving to keep Protein consumption between 150 to 200 grams, and Carbohydrates between 100 to 120 grams. My daily caloric intake is hovering around 2200 for the past week.

One more week to go on this Anti-Inflammatory diet. So far I have reintroduced modest amounts of coffee (2-3 cups a day) and eggs (about a half dozen a day). I am eager to see what is revealed in upcoming comprehensive blood work next week. I’ll keep you posted.
