
I suspect that we have all heard the old adage, “the way to a man’s heart, is through his stomach.”
At times I have wondered if the originator of that saying had romance, or murder, on his mind when he uttered those famous words.
I raise the question because I think someone is trying to kill me. Over the past week, I have come home to find Chocolate Macadamia Nut Bark, Paleo Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Lava Cake with Raspberries, and Chocolate Macadamia Pie with Coconut crust in my fridge. While I will concur that all these recipes are considered Paleo, I think it just might violate the premise of Paleo to eat them all within a few days.
As I have mentioned in the past, Suzanne has always baked desserts in all the years we have been married. Many of those desserts in the past were loaded with empty calories from processed flour and white sugar. But no more! Now these desserts are chock full of high density nutrition, and high density calories.
I am perfectly capable of resisting temptation, when there is none. In other words, if there is no dessert in the house, I’ll manage to get by without it. But, if it is there, it is quite likely that I will consume it. After all, I didn’t achieve forty-two years of marital bliss by insulting the pastry chef! But today I had to plead for mercy. Please do not make more than one or two desserts a week, instead of one or two desserts a day.
I gotta go, my whipped cream is starting to collapse.
