At noontime I decided to run an errand. I was at work and I was out of water. For those of you who may not know, my temporary office (going on 16 months now) is a construction trailer, with no running water.
I decided I’d drive to Wayland to visit Whole Foods. I had only been there once before, so I don’t know where anything is. I walked in the store and I walked by a Fresh Almond Butter machine. $5.99 a pound for fresh ground almond butter! Roche Bros is $10/lb. This is competitive with Trader Joe’s jarred stuff.
Then I remembered I wanted to try a new recipe for Coconut Macadamia Bark, so I scoured the store for a brick of high fat chocolate, coconut flakes and nuts. I found what I wanted and I opted for cashews instead of macadamia nuts, since I already had some at home. I also grabbed a bunch of nice bananas because we never have enough for me to leave in my trailer.
On my way towards the checkout I saw Arrowroot flour. Suzanne makes homemade dark chocolate pudding, she has been using cornstarch and I have been encouraging her to switch to Arrowroot as a healthy choice for a thickener. By the time I left the store, I was down $37 for half a bag of groceries.
When I got home, I placed my grocery bag on the work table. I glanced down and saw that Suzanne had bought me two jars of Almond Butter at T.J.s. I chuckled as I placed my tub of homemade A.B. next to them. Then I took the Arrowroot out of the bag. Suzanne asked me how much I paid, because she picked a package up today as well. FYI, I paid less than she did.
Then I took the Chocolate, Coconut and Cashews out of the bag. Suzanne asked what that was for. I told her it was for making a Chocolate Bark recipe I had found the other day. She opened the refrigerator and grabbed a large plate and set it on the table before me. She had thought the same thing and had already purchased the ingredients and made the confection.
Then she told me she bought a second bunch of bananas today, because I am always fussing that I don’t have any for work.
We had a good laugh about these series of coincidences. I guess it is a testament to how much we think alike after all these years.
Now tomorrow morning, I have to stop to buy water. Yeah, I forgot to buy water?
This is great ~ and absolutely love your photo!
