Am I the only one who has experienced this phenomenon? I have fewer street clothes in my closet, and my dresser looks like an ad for CrossFit or Rogue Fitness.
In days gone by, my casual wear was relaxed-fit jeans and oversized polo shirts. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a T-shirt that fit, because I would look six months pregnant, which is not a good look for a middle-aged man.
I am at a point where my gym clothes outnumber casual wear or dress wear by about 4 to 1. Part of it is because I have had to get rid of all my clothes, because they were just huge on me. I do not like clothes shopping, so I haven’t replaced suits, dress slacks, etc.
People will notice your face growing thinner, but when you finally jettison the oversized clothes and put something on that actually fits, they sit up and take notice. I’d be lying if I told you it didn’t affect me. I have been delighted when people have commented on how I’ve transformed over the past year and a half.
As you know, we do this for our health and well-being. Looking fit is a wonderful by-product that is long in coming. I will confess, I savor every moment of attention, because I know I have worked long and hard to achieve what I have thus far. No I’m not bragging, I’m rejoicing. It’s called “getting results”.
